March 2nd Hemispherical walk..4 miles.

Meet at Charing Cross station near platforms 1 and 2 at 10:40am for train to Blackheath.

We walk across the Common, through Greenwich Park and under the Thames on this walk on which we discover that time is mean (if we keep our eyes on the ball), develop tunnel vision and see where the ‘Eastern’ started out westwards.

We end on the Thames Clipper back to Westminster (£9.80 with Oyster paid on day, concessions for freedom pass, 60+ etc as per below, reductions if paid online in advance – see https://www.thamesclippers.com/plan-your-journey/ticket-information )

Alternative… leave the walk in Greenwich or Island Gardens for DLR trip back to City.

We pass a Wetherspoons in Greenwich so our meal on this walk will be after 3 of the 4 miles, not at the end.

Freedom Pass, 60+ Oyster card and UK regional senior bus pass holders can receive 50% off all Uber Boat by Thames Clippers fares (excluding return purchased at piers). This includes a 50% discount on River Roamer tickets, single tickets and season tickets.

  1. Signal failure at Rayners Lane. Had to decamp the station, take a bus and do another route. I’m on a central line train now. I will keep pushing on but I might be a bit late. Angela
